The requirements for BIM data are constantly increasing and great expertise is required not only to create this data, but also to keep it up to date. Often, the digitization of a building manufacturer’s products is viewed as a one-off project and the requirements that are constantly being added are overlooked. If this is the case, expensive revisions are due, for example because the product range is developing and these changes have to be corrected manually.
Aedificium Digital has developed the innovative “PIM-to-BIM” concept, in which the in-house effort on the part of the manufacturer is reduced to a minimum and the data is permanently kept up to date. No contact persons have to be assigned to initiate this manually. Instead, the data exchange takes place via interfaces (API) and can be automated using time intervals and update rules. So that the digital twins meet the requirements of architects, engineers and planners, we define a “best practice” structure at the beginning, which is determined according to international and regional standards. The building manufacturer’s products are created for specific target groups using “Best Practice” and remain up-to-date in the long term with the “PIM-to-BIM” concept.
